Overview

The vertical turn-mill center is a hybrid CNC machine that combines turning and milling functions in a single setup, specifically optimized for large-diameter, short-length workpieces, and turbine housings. Unlike conventional horizontal lathes, this machine holds the workpiece on a horizontal rotary table while the vertical spindle performs turning, milling, drilling, and tapping operations. This configuration allows gravity to assist chip removal and ensures stable clamping for heavy, unbalanced parts, making it particularly effective for industries such as aerospace, wind energy, and heavy equipment manufacturing.
