Overview
The manual pipe threading lathe is a specialized horizontal lathe designed for cutting internal and external threads on pipes and tubular workpieces. Built on a rigid horizontal bed, it is widely used in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, geological exploration, and municipal engineering industries for processing and repairing drill pipes, casings, tool joints, and other tubular components.
This machine is specifically engineered for pipe work. It features an extra‑large spindle bore that allows long pipes to pass through the entire spindle length. Both front and rear chucks securely grip the workpiece at both ends, ensuring exceptional stability and concentricity even when machining extremely long pipes. A built‑in taper attachment enables the cutting of both cylindrical and tapered pipe threads to meet various industry standards.
Beyond threading, the pipe threading lathe functions as a versatile general‑purpose lathe, capable of turning external and internal cylindrical surfaces, facing, boring, and chamfering shaft and disc-type components.
Features
Large‑Bore Spindle & Dual‑Chuck System – The extra‑large spindle bore allows pipes of various diameters to pass through. Front and rear chucks clamp the workpiece at both ends, providing stable support and high concentricity for long, heavy pipes.
Rigid Bed Construction – The bed is cast from high‑strength iron with a robust structure, delivering excellent rigidity and vibration resistance for stable heavy‑duty cutting. The guideways are induction‑hardened for extended wear resistance and long‑term accuracy.
Taper Threading Capability – Equipped with a taper guide bar device, the machine cuts both straight and tapered pipe threads to meet various threading standards.
Versatile Functionality – In addition to threading, the machine performs general turning operations including cylindrical and taper turning, facing, boring, and grooving on shaft and disc-type workpieces.
